Matthew 4:19 — Wednesday, October 28, 2026

In chapter 4, Jesus resists temptation in the wilderness and then begins his ministry in Galilee. Passing along the shore, he calls Peter and Andrew to a purpose greater than catching fish. The call involves leaving the old occupation and learning from him a new way of life. Following Jesus transforms our work into mission and our routine into service. For us today, that call means placing our life, talents and labor at the service of the Kingdom. When Jesus calls, he himself equips and transforms what we are.
