Explanation
Isaiah chapter 64 is a passionate prayer of the people in exile, who longed to see God act again with power. After confessing that sin had made them like a dry leaf, the people turn to God with a precious image. Verse 8 says: Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hands. The prayer acknowledges that God has the right to shape and the power to remake what was broken. The same hand that created can restore, and the same father's heart can start over with us. There is no situation the potter cannot transform. Today we can place ourselves in God's hands, trusting that he knows what he is doing. When we are the clay, the result is the master's work.
